Asia Cup: Pakistani actress slams 'mad' Shahid Afridi for humiliating loss against India

After India defeated Pakistan by five wickets in the Asia Cupcricket match at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, a large number of fans who had gathered at different spots in Pakistan's biggest city Karachi on Saturday to watch the match on giant screens amidst an atmosphere of festivity were left upset and angry.

Television channels showed some of them raising slogans against the Pakistan Cricket Board and players demanding their ouster while in some other parts of the country disappointed fans broke television sets with sticks.

Amongst all these fans, the harshest comment was made by Pakistani TV actress Qandeel Baloch who said, 'What did I tell you. Jab tak yeah pagal Afridi kaptan rahay ga tab tak team ka kuch nai honay wala. It's world cup soon and this is the condition of our cricket team. Shame. Boo.'

Earlier, a video on social media went viral in which Baloch was seen insulting and threatening Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She had posted the video on her Facebook account, in which she called PM Modi 'darling' and said the Indian PM should be threatened of Pakistanis.

To add insult to the angry fans, Afridi said losing to India was not a big deal and the Pakistan team could make a comeback, a comment which didn't go down well at all with anyone.

'Stop making excuses and start playing cricket. You are not children,' an angry former Test player Sikander Bakht said on Geo News channel.

'Aray bhai cricket tu khelo aur perform karo aur kheltay raho mat retire ho lekin perform to karo (brother first play cricket and perform and don't retire but first perform properly),' Bakht said.

Former Test captain Mohammad Yousuf and former pacer Sarfaraz Nawaz also lashed out at Afridi for his recent statement about rethinking his retirement decision after the World T20.
