Bollywood steals BBC show

The BBC hosted its first Bollywood show as part of the annual BBC Proms classical music festival at the iconic Royal Albert Hall in centralLONDON, marking the 50th anniversary of Asian programming on the BBC Asian Network and aiming to attract new audiences to the event.
“Besides British Asian talent, the first ‘Late Night with BBC Asian Network’ features South Asian talent all the way from Mumbai,” Bobby Friction, BBC Asian Network DJ and host of the event, said this week.
The specially curated series, dubbed “BBC Proms meets Bollywood”, included singers Benny Dayal, the voice behind the hit Badtameez Dil from Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani , and Kanika Kapoor, famous from Baby Doll . They paid tribute to Bollywood veterans like Lata Mangeshkar and R.D. Burman with old Hindi movie numbers such as Kabhi Kabhie and Chingari Koi Badhke from Amar Prem
